The International Journal for Doctors of Medicine and Medical Students (IJDMMS) is committed to publishing high-quality, original research and academic work from medical students, interns, and doctors worldwide. To maintain a standard of excellence, all submitted manuscripts must adhere to the following formatting guidelines and ethical standards.
The manuscript should be submitted in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format. Please adhere to the following structure:
Title Page:
Title of the article: Should be concise, descriptive, and reflect the content of the manuscript.
Author details: Full names of all authors (maximum 8 authors). Include the affiliation, email address, and ORCID ID (if available) of the corresponding author.
Running title: A short version of the title (≤ 50 characters).
Word count: Total word count, excluding abstract, references, tables, and figures.
Keywords: 4-6 keywords that best describe the content.
Abstract:
Provide a structured abstract (250-300 words).
Subsections:
Background: Brief context of the study.
Objectives: The purpose or hypothesis.
Methods: Summary of the study design, participants, and techniques.
Results: Brief findings.
Conclusion: The significance of the findings.
Main Text: The main manuscript should be divided into the following sections:
Introduction: Provide background information, research questions, and objectives.
Materials and Methods: Describe the study design, setting, participants, tools, and methodology in sufficient detail.
Results: Present findings using clear, concise language and appropriate statistical methods.
Discussion: Interpret the findings, compare with previous research, and explore limitations.
Conclusion: Summarize key takeaways, implications, and potential for future research.
References:
Follow Vancouver Style for referencing.
Cite all references in the text using numerals in square brackets ([1], [2], [3]).
Ensure accuracy and provide a comprehensive list of sources.
Tables and Figures:
Tables and figures should be embedded within the manuscript (not as separate files).
Captions: Provide a descriptive caption for each table and figure.
Ensure clarity and legibility of figures and tables.
Tables should be numbered sequentially (Table 1, Table 2, etc.), and figures should also follow the same format.
Acknowledgments:
Acknowledge individuals who contributed to the study but do not qualify for authorship.
Disclose any funding sources or financial support received for the study.
Ethical Approval:
For studies involving human subjects, ethics approval must be obtained from an appropriate ethics committee.
A statement indicating ethical approval should be included in the methods section.
File Type: Microsoft Word (.doc/.docx).
Font: Times New Roman, Size 12.
Line Spacing: 1.5 for the main text, single-spacing for tables and figure captions.
Margins: 1-inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.
Page Numbers: Include page numbers on the bottom right corner.
Word Limit:
Original Research: ≤ 3000 words.
Review Articles: ≤ 3500 words.
Case Reports: ≤ 2000 words.
At IJDMMS, we uphold the highest standards of academic integrity and ethical responsibility. Authors are required to adhere to the following ethical guidelines:
Authorship should be based on substantial contributions to the concept, design, execution, or analysis of the manuscript.
All authors should have participated in drafting the article or revising it for important intellectual content.
The final manuscript should be approved by all authors before submission.
Corresponding authors must provide contact details (email, phone number, ORCID ID).
Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could influence their manuscript.
A conflict of interest could include personal, professional, or financial relationships related to the manuscript's subject matter.
Plagiarism in all forms is strictly prohibited and will lead to immediate rejection of the manuscript.
Authors must submit original work that has not been published elsewhere or is under consideration by another journal.
Proper citations must be provided for all borrowed ideas, data, or direct quotes.
Authors must ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data presented in their manuscript.
Fabricating, falsifying, or manipulating data is unethical and will result in the retraction of the manuscript and possible blacklisting from the journal.
For human studies, authors must provide proof of ethical approval from an institutional review board or ethics committee.
For animal studies, authors must confirm that the study followed ethical guidelines for animal care and use, as per institutional or national regulations.
Informed consent must be obtained from all patients or participants involved in the study.
If the manuscript includes identifiable images or data from participants, written consent from the participants must be included.
Authors must ensure that their manuscript adheres to the ethical guidelines set by IJDMMS and other applicable regulations.
Manuscripts must not contain offensive language or discriminatory content and must respect cultural sensitivity.
All submissions will undergo a blind peer review process. Authors must cooperate with the editorial board and reviewers by addressing comments and revising the manuscript accordingly.
Once the manuscript is ready and follows all formatting and ethical guidelines, authors should submit their article by email to [ editorijdmms@gmail.com ]. You will receive an acknowledgment email confirming receipt of your submission.
Failure to comply with these formatting and ethical guidelines may result in the rejection of your manuscript.
If your article is Accepted, it will be published within 24 hours on our website, and e-certificates will be provided to all authors (maximum of 8 authors).
